ABILITIES
Weapons • Black market hand gun and a combat knife.
Skill Set • Gymnastics - Before she was forged into a weapon, Mi Na was a talented gymnast. She retains the lightning reflexes, agility and flexibility of a near Olympic level as she trains regularly.
Close-Quarters Combat - Mi Na is also very skilled in the use of martial arts in close quarters. She focuses her strikes at pressure points to maximize the effect of each, with an eye toward disabling opponents. Often she combines these with the use of her knife, unafraid to use lethal force against those she sees as enemies.
Marksmanship - While not on par with a Deadshot, Mi Na is still quite precise with small and medium firearms (read: handguns and rifles).
Abilities & Powers • All of Mina's powers derive from the ability to manipulate energy, effectively in the form of charged neon. This is due to her genetics including some amount of the meta-human DNA which her Japanese ancestors possessed a generation or two back. The main uses of this include:
Energy Bolts - Involves channeling of energy into concentrated blasts that resemble lightning bolts. While this can be enough to burn through metal, the stronger a blast becomes the more it taxes Mi Na's endurance.
Enhanced Strikes - Rather than firing off bolts of energy, Mi Na surrounds one of her limbs with it instead. On contact the energy surges from her body into the opponent or surface like electrocution. She is also capable of simply channeling this energy into a person or object so long as she maintains a grip on them.
Weaknesses • Limited Reserves - Despite the power which her attacks can pack, Mi Na's energy is generated internally. The more powerful a charge she uses, the more it depletes those internal reserves. Once the reserves are dry she must rest for at least 8 hours to properly recharge them.
Lack of Self Preservation - Mi Na additionally has little concern for her own well being and is apt to continue fighting far beyond her own limits. If she can move, she can keep pursuing whatever goal she has. This can be quite detrimental against enemies, especially those more powerful than herself.
Latent Programming - The effects of Mi Na's conditioning at the hands of the North Korean military still linger. Hearing the command phrase which they used to trigger her ruthless commando mindset still sets her off, as it has not been treated.

PERSONALITY
Likes • Poetry, gymnastics, symphonic music, helping others, forests and parks, martial arts, a good cup of tea.
Dislikes • Bullies, North Korea, alcohol, authority figures (particularly ones related to governments), her parents, pachinko or any kind of gambling.
Dreams • To find a safe place in the world where she can simply be herself without fear of a government hunting her. Also to make up for all the harm she's caused in the name of horrendous causes.
Fears • Being captured and tested on by a government (any); being deported to North Korea.
Overall Personality • Mi Na is largely seen by others as a distant, quiet young woman who may have lackluster social skills or is just shy. At times she prefers to simply observe quietly, and when she does speak her voice is typically quiet and soft spoken. She subscribes to the saying 'measure a thousand times, cut once', preferring in most areas to know her surroundings and those populating them before taking major actions. Keeping quiet yet helpful has become a way of life, allowing her to rectify some of the wrongs she's committed in the past.
Additionally she's still struggling to figure out who she is as a person in the free world. Years of being treated as a tool have rendered her uncertain of just who Mi Na Jeong is. It's hard for her to trust others for fear of being used by them; she as an equally hard time believing they may have good intentions for her. Sometimes she'll try things simply to see if she in fact enjoys them, often flitting between interests and activities in quite a fickle manner. It helps her focus on more positive things as well as to sculpt the new woman she's trying to become.
In terms of fighting, Mi Na still has a hard time letting go over her training/conditioning. For her lethal force is perfectly acceptable if the enemies she's engaged with either have or might harm others. She rarely shows mercy save to leave someone to warn the rest of her enemies.

HISTORY
Family •
Overall History • Mina doesn't really like to talk very much about her past. It's messy, complicated and is likely to get the attention of U.S. authorities for all the wrong reasons. She was born into a North Korean family in Japan which had carved out about as comfortable a life as possible without being social elites. With a grandfather in Korea who was a hero of the War and parents that were loyal (if distant) supporters, she was raised as thoroughly (North) Korean. None of her Japanese ancestry was ever disclosed to Mina as it was seen as a humiliation and stain to family honor. Despite being bilingual in Japanese and Korean, she attended a North Korean-style school and learned mainly their propaganda. As she grew older she began to develop an aptitude for gymnastics, starring on her school's team but being unable to compete in national tournaments.
At around the same time she began to experience odd feelings of queasy light-headedness with some regularity. Then her power emerged, shooting off a bolt of uncontrolled energy at a locker room wall. Fearing what this might mean and unable to turn to her family, she turned to the only people she thought could protect her: the North Korean government. Through community contacts she arranged a trip to China, where she entered the North Korean embassy and explained her condition to them. Seeing an opportunity for propaganda and on-the-ground advantage against their long time enemies, government agents granted her a passport from the DPRK and asylum within their borders. What followed was a traumatic set of years which would make her regret that decision greatly.
At first she was simply allowed to train alongside other gymnasts. While she happily did so the government minders monitored the evolution of her abilities, waiting for them to mature enough to be used properly. Once they determined this was the case, Mi Na was transferred from athletics into military service. Of course they also lied by saying her parents had given up her secrets to the Japanese, who had put out a warrant for her arrest. They told her she'd be turned over to the Americans for testing if she were caught, but that the DPRK would protect her.
In exchange she was conditioned to be emotionless, ruthless and efficient in her actions. Anything that would get in the way of her accomplishing a mission objective was programmed out as part of her training. Her unit was meant to mirror the South Korean 707 Special Mission Battalion, an all-female commando outfit. At their vanguard was imagined a powerful, efficient soldier who could overwhelm enemy targets on her own, let alone with allied help. Since she would have to make some public appearances and for the sake of undercover missions, her more ruthless side was programmed to trigger with a command phrase.
After months of brutal training, abuse by unsympathetic officers and mental conditioning, Mi Na was officially a North Korean commando. She carried out numerous black ops over both the Chinese and Russian borders against political dissidents, framing local organized crime for the hits. Eventually she was informed of a planned operation over the border with the South, one that would strike 'a decisive blow for Juche'. This was the point at which Mi Na decided to take matters into her own hands. Unleashing her power on her own side, she killed her minders and then fled over the Russian border under cover of night.
Since then she's made her way back to Japan and tries simply to avoid notice of any government authorities. At the same time she collects information on North Korean financial operations in Japan and has been planning action against them. Realizing what was done to her, she's determined never to allow tyranny to hurt others if she can help it.
