"♪Think of a wonderful thought~ any merry little thought~♫"
Molly Hayes was coloring and singing, humming the tune from Peter Pan whenever the lyrics escaped her. The song bounced through the tunnels, reverberating around her in a way that the little girl thought sounded pretty cool. She'd gotten her hands on a few pieces of giant colored chalk and had wasted no time in showing them off to Mother Spider. The matronly arachnid woman told her to be careful not to color too close to the lair, in case it tipped anyone off, so the little girl had gone off into one of the less traversed tunnels to play with her chalk.
The light from her lamp splayed enough light on the wall to make it so that she could see her drawings, but the rest of the sewer system around her was bathed in shadows. Molly had gotten used to darkness, and the sun-kissed California girl was becoming decidedly less so as time went on. She missed it, though. She missed playing outside. She missed her friends. "Think of the happiest things~♫" her high pitched voice squeaked as it broke and she lost the tune as it turned into a sob. Thinking of happy things sucked.
She went back to drawing flowers along the sides of the tunnel, sniffling back stupid tears, when a splashing noise caught her attention. Molly's chalk stopped scraping along the concrete as she paused to look in the direction of the sound. "Hello?" she asked, squinting into the darkness.

A short time ago, a small form stealthily made it's way to the Underground, doing his best to avoid being seen by anyone who'd cause him trouble. He figured he'd attempt to busker, or maybe take a more...direct route, and get some money later,but for now he had to find a safe place to hide out in. And, though he hated to admit it, there wasn't much safer then the sewers. So, Cor traveled down into the darkness, traveling in what would leave others blind as if it was daylight. Hearing a voice, the boy crouched down warily, eyes narrowing at the presense of light in the distance. Adjusting his duffel bag, he warily approached. Huh...that voice sounded like a kid's voice...Or at least, a kid a little younger then himself. His brows furrowed at the sobbing, and he approached closer, twitching at a splash. Whoops...As the girl addresses his presence, his red eyes glow breifly as he considers shadowporting further back, but he decides to return the hello. She would hear a young voice, though one a few years older then her. " ...Hello." Tag: Molly HayesNotes: It certaintly does!^^ Sorry if mine's a tad short.^^;

Red eyes flashed in the darkness and Molly gasped. Her first thought was that it was a rat, and her mind instantly went to the one she'd befriended, but then a voice echoed her hello. The girl might have confused it with an echo, but it didn't hold the same question that her voice did, it was also a little bit deeper but not enough to sound adult. Another kid! She scrubbed haphazardly at her cheeks and pushed a smile onto her ruddy face.
"Hi!" she repeated brightly as she peered into the darkness. "I'm Molly!" The girl wearing the bright pink bunny hat turned where she was sitting, leaning forwards so that she was looking forward towards where she could barely see. She thought she could, maybe, make out a flicker of shadows. "Do you wanna color with me?" she asked, holding up a piece of bright yellow chalk.

Cor tilted his head as she scrubbed at her cheeks and responded with another greeting. As she introduces herself, he considers how to respond, then decides it should be aight to give her one of his nicknames." ...I guess you can call me Cor." As she peered in his direction,he tenses, adjusting the duffle on his bag and pushing up the shades covering his eyes, just incase. Blinking in surprise at the offer, he tilts his head, then steps out of the shadows. " Aight....Guess I can." Molly would see a thin boy,a few inches shorter then her, with short, messy hair poking out from the hood covering his head. He was clad in dark, worn clothing consisting of a hoodie, t-shirt,cargoes,and beat up sneakers. A pair of shades hid his eyes from sight. The shadows seemed to almost cling to him.Approaching closer, he somewhat hesitantly takes the offered chalk.

"Nice to meet you, Cor!" the little girl chirped brightly. When the older boy shuffled forward Molly's face lit up in a reassuring smile. She stayed still until he took the chalk, with the patience of someone coaxing out an abused dog, and refrained from any sharp, child-like movements while he was currently in her space. "I'm drawing flowers," Molly explained to him easily, gesturing to the bright yellow and pink doodles along the side of the tunnel they were in. "Pink's my favorite!" she held up her pink chalk to show him before scooting back around to start doodling another flower on the wall.
"Why are you wearing shades? Does the light hurt your eyes?" the little girl asked, considering what he was wearing, as she sketched out a heart-shaped petal. She'd seen all sort of strange things down here in the tunnels, and she obviously wasn't afraid. "It's okay if they look weird. I'm special too!" she held up her scrawny arms and took a he-man gunshow pose. "I'm really strong! I bet I can lift you."

Cor blinked as she said nice to meet you,and nodded." ...It's...nice...to meet you as well." Having taken the chalk, he carefully sits down, nodding and glancing at the drawings she'd done so far." Ah, I see..." When told that pink was her favorite, the boy nodded, casually beginning to draw vines." Gotcha..." At the question about his shades,Cor twitches, then gives his standard excuse." I got a eye condition, is all." No sense giving away his secrets. Even if she was a kid,Molly was a kid he'd just met, after all.Glancing at her as she said she was special, his brow raises as the girl says she was strong. Granted,he noticed she hadn't been afraid of him at all, and it was pretty possible she was another so-called 'deviant'..." Oh yeah?" Tag: Molly HayesNotes: Aw, I love how gentle she acted!^^

"Yeah!" Molly echoed his question exuberantly. "I'm a superhero!" she told him proudly, puffing up slightly as she drew a pair of Ps on the wall above their flowers and vines with her pink chalk. The ears of her bright pink bunny hat wobbled with the motion. "My codename is Princess Powerful! I have a pink cape! And I help my friends fight crime and beat the bad guys and stuff." she informed her new friend. The Hayes girl obviously had no trouble trusting strangers.
She reached for a ratty backpack nearby and dug through it. A few hats were displaced before the big pink comforter was pulled to the top. "See!?" she asked, holding the cape made from an old comforter up for him to look at. She pointed out the pair of Ps that Kamala had put on it with a smile of sheer joy. "Do you have special powers too? Are you a superhero? You can join my group! We need more boys."

Cor blinked, head tilting in confusion. " A....superhero?" His brows furrowed. What...exactly was that? A hero that happened to have powers, maybe? The boy glanced over back over at Molly as she continues speaking, listening with a raised brow. " Princess Powerful, huh?" Maybe it was just the imaginings of a younger kid? As she pulled the cape out, he nodded." ...Yeah, I see." Cor glanced at the two Ps. Huh...looked neat, like someone else did them for her...A family member? Glancing at the girl again, his eyes widen at the first question, and he bites his lip nervously, considering. So far, he hadn't lied outright, not even on the eye question. Technically, he did have a condition. It just happened to not have any negative side effects, other then being a nice clue in to his nature, and a easy excuse to be called a...a monster...Either way, so far, he hadn't lied...Should he now? Wasn't as if one kid would do much, and regardless if her claims were true or not, she didn't have much reason to report him. Either she had powers herself, and wouldn't stab a fellow meta in the back, or she didn't,but seemed to look up to powered people, for some reason, and, again, wouldn't stab him in the back. He sighed, nodding and looking down. " ...Yeah, I have powers...Though, I wouldn't consider myself a hero..." Sure,he helped out from the odd mugging from time to time, but more often then not, he was immediately reminded that as far as others were concerned,he was no hero, but a freak. Cor blinks, snapped out from his thoughts by the last question and looking up at her wide eyed. " You....want me to be in your group? ....Maybe, I'll join."

Cor wasn't a kid of many words, and they seemed to be drawn out, but Molly had grown up dealing with her mother's speech therapy patients and waited for him to figure out the words he wanted to say. She gave him a patient smile, nodding enthusiastically, as he wrapped his mind around the idea that she was a superhero. Molly didn't think it was that unbelievable, but maybe he'd heard about the not-so-awesome job she and her friends had done trying to save the world.
The quiet patience evaporated when he said he might join. "Yay!" Molly cried, the sound of her excitement reverberating along the cylindrical walls. She bounced to her feet, hugged him, and then bounced in a circle back towards where she'd been sitting. "What are your super powers? Are they cool?" she asked too quickly, her eyes sparkling in the dim lighting, as she gave him some time to respond.
"You'll like my friends!" she decided, "And they'll like you too!" the enthusiasm dropped a notch when reality hit, though. "Once I find them. I got separated from them when bad men attacked. Did you lose your friends that way? Mommy Spider saved me, though, and she's going to help me find my friends! Maybe she can help you too!"

Cor jumped as the younger girl suddenly shouted, eyes widening at the surprise hug. As she bounced around then sat down, he tilted his head. Huh...she'd gotten excited fast...At the rapid one-two questions, the boy blinked, processing her hurried words for a second, then bites his nervously. He'd already shared that he had powers, but...it was different sharing what they actually were...But,Cor had, again, already shared that he had powers, and maybe hiding them from her would scare her worse He glances at her, then warily pulls his shades down. " I control shadows and darkness." His eyes glowed softly as he puts on a demonstration. Shadows near him roil, and a shape moves...before a jetblack bunny, with red glowing eyes, hops out. Though it seemed slightly sinister, it was far, far from the scariest he could do.Still, the boy tensed warily and waited for her reaction, listening to the rest of Molly's words. " Maybe I will..." Wasn't certain though...He blinked as she stated they'd like him too, brows finishing at last few sentences...Bad men...if she was powered,it was likely she meant FADE...Those scummers. He blinks at the question." I...didn't really have friends, but I lost my mom that way,yeah..." Cor blinked, tilting his head. " Mother Spider?I kinda...doubt she could help me."

"EIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEE!"
Molly's squeal of delight bordered on earsplitting as it reverberated along the sewer walls as soon as she saw the bunny. She clasped her hands, her grin from ear to ear, as she reached out towards the little black creature that matched the pink one on her head. "It's so cute!" she breathed, obviously taken with his cool powers. "Your power is so cool! Can you make kittens and puppies too?" she asked excitedly, hopping like the rabbit he'd created.
Then she registered what he'd said about his mother. "They took your Mommy!?" she cried looking horrified. Granted, her own mother had been taken from her, but that was her mom's fault. It'd be a completely different box of gummy worms if someone had tried to take her parents and they weren't evil and stuff.
"Mommy Spider will be able to help you!" the little girl decided with a definitive nod. "I'll take you to her! She makes the best cookies, and her tea is yummy too. We have tea parties all the time," Molly had shoved her cape back into her bag as she chattered and straightened. She pulled the backpack on. "C'mon!" she encouraged, holding out a hand for him to take with a reassuring smile that easily split into a bigger grin. It was kinda exciting to realize she was the taller of the pair.
It wasn't too far of a journey to the condemned church that Mother Spider had taken for her lair. It's basement had a kitchen, which was currently in use making some sort of delicious smelling pastry, and Molly's head lifted to sniff the air as she ducked under a giant web. "Mmm!" she hummed appreciatively, "Smells yummy!" She turned back towards Cor with a giant smile, obviously not bothered in any way by the giant spider webs that were becoming more and more prevalent as they reached their destination. "I hope we can have some."
"MOMMY SPIDER!" Molly called as she opened a door. "I MADE A FRIEND!"

Umbra yelped, jumping, at the sudden, loud squeal. Thankfully, he managed to maintain enough focus to keep the bunny held together. The boy regarded her with wide eyes. She...wasn't freaking out, wasn't calling him a monster? He smiled slightly, making the bunny hop forward a couple of paces. Relaxing at the compliment, he tilts his head in thought towards the questions. " Heh...Thanks.Not sure,actually...Though I'm pretty sure I can." Cor blinks at the next question, and looks down as he pushes his shades back up over his eyes. " I....I don't know..." Cor blinks as she speaks about Mother Spider helping him again, and his eyes widen as Molly says she'd take him to her." W-wait...You don't need to..." Then she mentions cookies, and his stomach makes a rumbling comment." ....Guess I could at least meet her..." Standing up and scooping up his duffel, the boy noticed the height discrepancy, slumping just a tad.Maaaan....even a girl a few years younger then him had him beat on the height thing...Tilting his head at the reassuring smile, Cor hesitantly smiles back, taking the hand and letting her guide him along. As they approached, he noticed the webs, tilting his head. Huh...guess that wasn't just a nickname...She must be a spider meta...Smelling the tasty scents, the boy nodded in agreement, drooling slightly, but tensed. This meant he was close to meeting someone else...Cor surveyed the doorway warily.

"Who did you bring, Molly Sweetheart?" With a voice sounding like honey, the spider dropped slowly from the ceiling. Two hands were holding a web. Another pair pressed her cooking apron against her legs, preventing it from falling upside down. "I made some pumpking cookies for the three of us." The last pair of hands presented two orange cookies. They arrived right in front of the two young people's mouths. "Say Aaaah!" There was some anticipation mixed into the treats. "Halloween is coming up soon and we need to practice trick or treat." The spider winked with one of her five eyes.
Elisabete paused for a moment, taking in the small boy next to her little protegee. "Another abnormal, right?" She gave a quick upside-down smirk. "I've got a sixth sense for this. No mommy or daddy nearby. Please tell me your name and age, little one." As she dropped lower, the spider-woman did a quick back-flip. She now stood upright next to the younger people. Her eyes were still studying the strange person Molly had brought to her lair. "And don't be scared. I don't eat people. Except maybe people-shaped pastries. You are welcome to some as well. I'm mother Spider and this is my humble bakery." Her upper left arm slowly swept across the room showing off the interior design. Another pair of hands quickly turned on some more lights.
"Don't worry about the webs. It's perfectly hygienic. I am quite strict with the other spiders about touching the food." The villainous mom then stepped closer to Molly. One set of arms offered another cookie, while the four others wrapped around the little girl in a protective hug. "Only little Molly here is allowed to touch whatever she wants. I'm trying to fatten up this poor little child. We abnormals can be quite... energy consuming." She looked at the boy. "Wouldn't you agree?"

"My new friend Cor!" the little girl announced, glancing up when she heard the woman's voice from up above. "He made me a bunny!" she added brightly, looking over at the boy appreciatively, but she left it vague as to how he'd managed it. For all that the child had given away he could have drawn one out of chalk.
Molly obediently opened her mouth to receive the cookie, grinning around the treat, as the woman who'd taken her in flipped to the ground besides them. Her hand went up to grab the cookie, and she nibbled it while she watched as Elisabete questioned her new friend about who he was, and who he was missing. She'd find out where Cor's mommy was. Mommy Spider was the best. It was why all the bad guys wanted her.
She accepted the hug and the second cookie with a smile, wrapping the arm not grabbing for the cookie around the purple woman in a hug, before glancing up. "Do you think you can help Cor find his mommy?" she asked earnestly, resting her chin on the woman's apron. "She's missing."

Cor tensed at the sudden voice, eyes widening and then eyeing the spider woman warily. Blinking at the cookie offered before his mouth, the boy tilted his head, but opens his mouth and begins nomming upon it at seeing Molly accept it, and holding it with a hand. His eyes widen. That was good! Upon the mention of Halloween, and being called friend, he smiled slightly, feeling a twinge of excitement at the thought of the 31st. Mom and him had a lot of fun on that holiday...Cor blinked as she guessed he was a abnormal, and nodded." Yeah..." At the question, he glanced at her, debating for a second." ...I'm Cor...and 14." At the request to not be scared, Cor shook his head. " I'm not." And he wasn't, not really. It was more wariness then anything. The boy's ears pricked upon hearing that he was free to have some pastries, and his stomach made it's opinion about that known.Reddening slightly in embarrassment upon that, the boy glanced around the bakery as Mother Spider showed off the room with a sweeping gesture, nodding as the woman says not to worry about the webs.Head tilting at the pause, Cor nodded." ...Yeah...Lack of energy can be a bit of trouble." He knew that, for sure, considering the way he got after shadowporting too much and too fast. At Molly's request, his eyes widen, and he regards Mother Spider, feeling a twinge of hope.
